FORTUNE
FEATURES
is
a
worldwide
distribution, production, film finance and
entertainment law consulting company established in 2005 by Kourosh
Esmailzadeh.
Fortune is dedicated to producing and distributing studio quality
motion pictures that not only entertain and engage, but also inspire
people.
We have the production resources to create significant cultural product
that, through an extensive and flexible distribution network, we can
target to global audiences in a manner that can enrich lives.
In 2003, after graduating from the Motion Picture Association and
European Union sponsored masters program in media and entertainment
management, Kourosh joined H. Michael Heuser’s Storm Entertainment
(Shiner, Heidi, Hurlyburly) as
Director of International Distribution,
responsible for distribution of motion pictures budgeted from 2-10
million USD.
Kourosh left Storm to found Fortune Features; embarking on a number of
exciting hybrid projects designed to maximize access to both mainstream
and niche audiences.
In 2007 Kourosh engaged Stephen Jeffreys, writer of The Libertine,
(starring Johnny Depp and John Malkovitch) to write a romantic period
piece.
At the same time (and an example of the company’s multi-faceted
portfolio) Fortune Features is the foreign distributor and executive
producer of Living Luminaries
(starring Eckhart Tolle, New York Times
#1 bestseller).
Following on from the experience of licensing films that feature a
multiplicity of inspirational speakers, the next priority project is The Happiness Matrix,
to be released in July 2011, based on Dr.
Srikumar Rao’s groundbreaking MBA course, Creativity & Personal
Mastery (CPM) at Columbia, Kellog and London Business Schools.
Fortune's theatrical
feature film, The Method is
currently in active production.
From 1999 to 2001, Kourosh studied directing and acting at the Lee
Strasberg Theatre Institute in New York, as well as the NY Actors
Studio where he attended workshops and lectures by Arthur Penn, Harvey
Keitel, Estelle Parsons and Robert Castle among others.
